Disha Sawant
Astrophysicist, Scientific Program Manager, Science Outreach and Communication Expert
Disha holds a PhD in High Energy Astrophysics from University of Ferrara and INFN Bologna, Italy. She is passionate about building Citizen Science projects, and leveraging her data driven research skills for Astronomy, Environment & Sustainability.
She currently manages Big Data and AI branch of Pune Knowledge Cluster. She has previously worked as Postdoctoral Fellow in IIT Mumbai (For LIGO) and PRL Ahmedabad (on Martian atmosphere). She has been ac active outreach in Astronomy creating and presenting scientific and technical content in English, Hindi and Marathi.
Originally from India, she studied in Italy, Germany and France, worked in Italy and India, and is now based in Pune. She loves books, swimming, and wine.
